I love to decorate for Holidays, but Valentines day can be a bit of a tricky one. All the hearts and cheesy cupids is SO not my style. But there are some ways to get festive with Valentines decor without bordering tacky.
The key for Valentines Decor is understated.
Christmas? Go all out! Fall? Pumpkin everything!
But with this holiday, you want to be a little more subtle. *unless you like all the cupids, hearts, and reds… then you do your thing!! 😉
Here are a few tips for subtle hints of Valentines Day around the house:
1. Add some fresh flowers.
Grab a few stems from the grocery store and brighten up the grey winter days with some color!
2. mix and match metallic’s to add a romantic feel
Add a few extra gold, silver, rose gold, and mercury glass pieces around the house for a glam feel! Think candle sticks, vases, decorative trays, and frames! Speaking of frames:
3. Dust off and pull out those wedding photos
Get a little romantic and nostalgic by putting your wedding photos on display around the house. If you have kids, it will open up some fun conversations about your wedding day! I also like to put out wedding photos on our anniversary month!
4. switch out a couple throw pillows-
check out this throw pillow tutorial for a cheap way to change up your seasonal decor (hint: this heart pillow is actually a placemat!!) Here are a couple other cute pillow covers from Amazon- you can put them over an existing pillow for the month of February!
5. Display Scripture about love
I love to switch out some picture frames with artwork each season. I put out this beautiful print from Gracelaced for Valentines day.
Or you could go all out and oh i don’t know, do something like paint your front door pink: 😉
