Olivia’s first Birthday was last week! We can’t believe how quickly time has gone. I was all nostalgic and read back through her birth story. So fun to relive that and think of how much she has grown! Just in the last couple days she started walking (cue the tears) and her favorite thing is to give her mom and dad kisses– those sweet slobbery open mouthed baby kisses. We can’t get enough of her.
We spread out the first Birthday celebrations over a few small parties during the weekend. It turned out to be such a nice way to connect really well with our family in smaller group settings. I hosted a little brunch, and of course had to add a little theme to it: “Breakfast At Tiffany’s” or really, “Breakfast at Olivia’s”!
- Olivia’s Headband
- Olivia’s Dress (I added the pearl necklace)
- My Top (size small was super boxy and too big on me- I tailored it by taking in the sides quite a bit)
- breakfast Casserole
- Yogurt Parfaits
- Fruit salad
- monkey bread (sweet rolls)
- Coffee, Orange Juice, Water
I kept it pretty simple with decorating a couple shelves in the kitchen along with the tablescape. I used mostly stuff I had around the house, which added a personal and sentimental touch (and helped the budget!). A silver coffee set that was a wedding gift for my parents, Chalkboard from our wedding, Tea cup and saucer gifted to me from my Grandma’s collection. Jewelry I’m saving for Olivia to play with when she gets older, a copy of Breakfast At Tiffany’s that I’ve had since high school.

I used this method to create the “breakfast at Olivia’s” sign.
Table: thetable runner is just two ribbons. For the centerpiece, I used the silver serving tray from the coffee set and a vase wrapped in tiffany blue wrapping pape/white ribbon. Add some grocery store flowers, and voila! Napkins are from Ikea. Get our dishes here.
For good measure, here’s a few more photos of the gifts and cake! (She was not interested in the cake at all!)
